Collaboration with Beghurebi:
Centre for children with special needs
Long-time dream
This project was proposed by a Ukrainian artist, whose long-time dream was to create artwork for a children's center. We found an excellent place in the city center, near the urban market area, with a rich history dating back to 1995.
It’s the non-governmental organization “Child and Environment” founded to provide assistance to socially disadvantaged children — children with special needs and children who are in very tough situations.
Specialists from various fields, such as psychologists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists, work with children, preparing them for school and fostering their creative abilities. The demand for such activities is high, limited only by the space in the rooms where they can accommodate a specific number of children.
Volunteers helped with renovations on the second floor to accommodate more children,
but the rooms themselves looked very gloomy in a rather old building.

The Beginning
Five artists and even more volunteers responded.
We reached out, offering assistance, which turned out to be much needed!
Five artists and even more volunteers responded. For some, it was their first attempt at wall art, providing the artists a chance to practice working on a larger scale and add a valuable piece
to their portfolios.

THE VISION ARRIVES

It was great to see a significant response and the desire of diverse people, including Georgian artists,
to participate in this project. Belarusians and Georgians joined forces, showcasing how art and social initiatives bring people together!

In the End
In the end, we created three rooms: a khinkali room, where a khinkali goes on a journey, has adventures, and shares the message that life is an adventure, full of creativity and freedom; a flower room with clouds and plants; and a caterpillar room with a cool caterpillar and other characters, its friends. In the corridor, there's an abstract cosmic flora with flowers and stars transitioning into a forest. Overall, the ideas are diverse, but they all look fantastic and interesting, and they complement each other well.

The goal was something child-friendly without being too colorful,
as children have different preferences and may not react well
to bright colors. Each artist came up with their own ideas,
and we coordinated with Nana, the director of the center.

The center is located right on the territory of a huge market and is also surrounded by garages. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was a significant amount of litter.
We immediately decided that we must clean up the area. In Tbilisi, there's an initiative called Tbilisi CleanUps — they gather on weekends in different parts of the city to clean up litter.
We reached out to them and proposed a collaboration. Our volunteers also came, and we
had around 20-25 people in total!
Thanks a lot
