Mural "My home"

about mural
"My Home" is a project, which Wow Wall Studio started in May 2022. The project was created to help people forced into refuge and to support their families.
The artists created a series of murals with a story to showcase the history of people forced to leave their homes.

These people had to leave behind everything material, even the most valuable things, the things that represent heritage, that hold history, and that are some of the basic things that tie them to their culture. They have to carry their home with them, what’s more they have begun to realise that they themselves are their homes. This mural in Tbilisi depicts a real Belarusian girl with her child, who moved to Tbilisi to her husband after giving birth. She wears a dress made from the patterns of the Belarusian national dyvan (handpainted carpet that is given as a holiday gift). The background consists of Georgian folk patterns from various fields of art: weaving, ceramics, and jewelry. The mural was created in gratitude to Georgia for its hospitality, and for accepting Belarusians.

Meet the artists
Mark Maksimovich and Jarosław Ptak, together with their colleagues, created an international artistic group called WOW WALL STUDIO. They have made several dozen murals in Poland and abroad. They do not limit themselves to one style but like to experiment and create in different directions. Their core approach is to bring as much beauty and harmony to the streets as possible. "Street art is an opportunity to expose art to the widest audience, rather than confining art to galleries and museums."
